There are some conditions that become chronic over time and are very difficult to treat. Some of the most common however have been found to respond to a course of shockwave therapy. Depending on the condition and length of time you have had it, the number of sessions is usually between 4 and 8 with 4 being the minimum for these chronic conditions.
