About me

Jim Odell, Chiropractor

As the co-author of ‘Soft Tissue Release Handbook’, I teach and use this sport
massage technique as part of your chiropractic treatment. Along with my
masters’ degrees in Pain Management and Psychology, both of which have a
focus on pain and headaches, I am able to provide you with relevant guidance to
help with pain management solutions, including migraine which was the subject
of my PhD.

I worked in the NHS alongside the Musculoskeletal services team for 16 years
providing “hands-on” care, was one of the instigators of the UK’s first
Postgraduate Headache course at University of Edinburgh and co-wrote the
Headache Quality Guidelines for the Royal College of Chiropractors.

Having studied fitness training and sports injuries when I owned a health club, I
can work with you and if needed, your personal trainer, to ensure nothing you
are doing is hindering your recovery or causing ongoing discomfort.

Finally, although I enjoy learning, my aim is to bring this knowledge to the clinic
to help you. As a research supervisor on the chiropractic degree, I am also in the
fortunate position of keeping up to date with new developments. We can never
know enough, and in the health care profession things change all the time, so we
must ensure our treatment is based on the best evidence.
